Search Tips:
When searching for RETRO images, please use the keyword - "DATED".
Use the Underline character to join words that belong together.
Examples: San_Francisco hot_air_balloon rodeo_clown
Searches are not case sensitive. san_francisco works too.
Do NOT use punctuation.
Searches are for precise matches of the words you enter.
Examples: Air finds air not hair or airplane; man does not find woman.
Singular words usually have more success than plurals.
Start search words with three periods to find words ending with specific letters.
Examples: ...man finds man as well as woman, Amman and human.
End search words with three periods to find words starting with specific letters.
Examples: man... finds man as well as mankind, manifold and manatee.
Sandwich search words with three periods to find words containing specific letters.
Examples: ...man... finds man plus commander, penmanship and Germany.
Different subjects can be searched at once if the OR option is set.
Examples: Statue_of_Liberty Grand_Canyon Golden_Gate_Bridge
And vs Or
The simple words AND and OR, used along with any series of search words, can make a significant difference in what you do, or don't, find in your searches. When you indicate AND, you're saying that the results must contain ALL of your search criteria. OR means any entries that satisfy any part of your search criteria should be selected. AND is much more precise and as a result, is more restrictive, yielding fewer results.
Example: A search for Black AND White means an entry containing Black, Blue, Green and an entry containing White, Red, Yellow should both be ignored while an entry containing Black, Blue, White, Red should be chosen since it's the only one containing both Black AND White. A search for Black OR White would choose all three entries since each has at least one or the other.
